PCS 2024 Summer Split Schedule & Format

PCS 2024 Summer Split runs from June 8 to July 14, 2024, and it features two stages of competition. The first Group Stage will see all seven teams compete in a Single Round Robin format. The top four teams from Stage 1 will move on to the Contender Group in Stage 2, and the bottom three teams will compete in the Breakout Group during Stage 2.

The top two teams from the Contender Group receive a bye in the PCS 2024 Summer Playoffs, directly qualifying for Round 2. The third-place team in the Contender Group also qualifies for the Playoffs event alongside the top two from the Breakout Group. The bottom team from the Breakout Group is eliminated. All matches during the PCS 2024 Summer Split are best-of-three.

Six teams will make it to the Summer Playoffs, where they will compete with teams from LCO and LJL in August 2024. The top two PCS 2024 Summer Playoffs teams will qualify for the Worlds 2024 Play-In Stage.

The precise start times of each match are available in our PCS 2024 Summer section and the official LoLesports website.

Teams Competing In PCS 2024 Summer Split

Seven LoL teams from the Asia-Pacific region are competing in the PCS 2024 Summer Split for spots in the Playoffs.

  • PSG Talon
  • Frank Esports
  • West Point Esports
  • HELL PIGS
  • CTBC Flying Oyster
  • Deep Cross Gaming
  • J Team

Please note: There are only seven teams because Beyond Gaming withdrew from the PCS and disbanded in April 2024.

Our Predictions For PCS 2024 Summer Split

Predicting the outcome of the PCS 2024 Summer Split is challenging, as many teams are close in skill level. Even so, we’ve channeled our inner Twisted Fate to bring you our top-four predictions.

Please note: Our PCS 2024 Summer Split predictions are based on past performances, available stats, player form, and a dose of the author’s opinion. Never interpret these predictions as betting advice to act upon. Always gamble responsibly. You must be 18+ to play.

1. PSG Talon

PSG Talon is arguably the strongest team in the APAC region and a favorite to top the PCS 2024 Summer Split. At MSI 2024, the Taiwanese powerhouse impressed as the squad made it past the Play-In Stage and then narrowly lost 3-2 to Bilibili Gaming (MSI finalists) before getting knocked out by G2 Esports.

All eyes are on Azhi, the excellent top-laner, and Maple, the mid-laner, who could carry PSG Talon to another PCS victory. Odds indicate that the team will likely claim a top-three spot and compete in the contender group.

PSG Talon roster:

  • Huang “Azhi” Shang-Jhih
  • Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang
  • Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia
  • Lu “Betty” Yu-hung
  • Lin “Woody” Yu-En
  • Cheng “CorGi” Pin-Lun (Coach)

2. CTBC Flying Oyster

CTBC Flying Oyster is one of the strongest contenders at the Summer Split. The squad topped this year’s PCS Spring Split but missed their shot at qualifying for the MSI 2024 event during the PCS Spring Playoffs, suffering devasting 3-0 losses to PSG Talon and LJL team Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming.

If CTBC Flying Oyster can shake off their Spring 2024 disappointment, they have a shot at finishing in the top-three. We predict that the team will flourish and earn a top-two finish for an advantageous spot in the PCS 2024 Summer Playoffs.

CTBC Flying Oyster roster:

  • Shen “Driver” Tsung-Hua
  • Hung “Karsa” Hau-hsuan
  • Kim “Gori” Tae-woo
  • Chao “Shunn” Ying-shun
  • Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-chieh
  • Chen “Achie” Chen-Chi (Coach)

At the time of writing, it is unclear if veteran top-lane player Hsu “Rest” Shih-Chieh is on the sidelines or still in a starting position with the addition of Driver in May 2024.

3. Frank Esports

Frank Esports is another strong contender from Hong Kong in the regular season. Their run at the PCS 2024 Spring Playoffs came to a dramatic end when they lost to Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming in the lower-bracket semifinal after the Japanese side won the last two games in a row for a 3-2 scoreline. During the regular season, Frank Esports earned a respectable fourth place.

Can coach Skywalk inspire the team to finish higher than in the PCS 2024 Spring Split and claim a third-place spot? Current player form and recent performances indicate Frank Esports has a good chance of a top-three finish this time.

Frank Esports roster:

  • Chen “1Jiang” Yi-Chin
  • Huang “Gemini” Chu-Xuan
  • Tseng “JimieN” Hao-Chun
  • Ng “Pretender” Cheuk Lun Jason
  • Tsou “Wako” Wei-Yang
  • Ling “Kaiwing” Kai Wing
  • Wong “Skywalk” Chun Him (Coach)

It is still unclear if JimieN or Pretender will compete for Frank Esports in the mid-lane position during the PCS 2024 Summer Split.

4. Deep Cross Gaming

Taiwanese squad Deep Cross Gaming did look shaky during the Spring 2024 Split, but in the PCS 2024 Spring Playoffs, they impressed with a lower-bracket run in the Play-In stage to qualify for the main event. Despite a 5th to 6th place finish, jungle position player 665 managed four MVP awards during the PCS Spring 2024 Playoffs. There’s confidence that Deep Cross Gaming can make a deep run during the PCS 2024 Summer Split and maybe even the Playoffs.

Deep Cross Gaming roster:

  • Fan “Taco” Zhao-Fu
  • Wu “665” Yi-Han
  • Chang “Cryscata” Che-Lin
  • Chen “Feng” Chun-Feng
  • Hsieh “Tide” Yu-Che
  • Kuo “Orca” Cheng-Han
  • Lin “Enzz” Chen (Coach)

At the time of writing, it is unclear if Feng or Tide will compete for Deep Cross Gaming in the bot lane position.

Who Will Emerge Victorious At This Year’s PCS Summer Split?

While teams like PSG Talon and CTBC Flying Oyster are leading the charge in the PCS 2024 Summer Split, tournaments like these remain anyone’s game (pun very much intended). It may be Deep Cross Gaming’s time to shine, and Frank Esports is well-suited to make at least a top-three finish.
