Our Predictions For PGL Wallachia Season 2

PGL Wallachia Season 2 is the first S-Tier event after The International 2024, and the rostermania chaos with post-TI roster shuffles is still underway. Dozens of players have either switched teams or retired, resulting in many teams at the event playing with some stand-ins or new additions to their lineups.

These roster changes make predicting the outcome of PGL Wallachia Season 2 complex, but we’re excited to share our thoughts!

Please note: These PGL Wallachia Season 2 predictions consider historical data, stats, current team and player form, and recent performances at The International 2024. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Never interpret this analysis as betting advice to act upon. Always gamble responsibly.

Team Falcons

Team Falcons is the squad to beat at PGL Wallachia Season 2. They’ve seen incredible success in 2024 so far, winning ESL One Birmingham, BetBoom Dacha Dubai, DreamLeague Seasons 22 and 23, and FISSURE Universe. They also placed third at PGL Wallachia Season 1, the highest of any other team attending Season 2.

Above and beyond all their accolades, Team Falcons is one of the few squads with no roster changes after The International 2024, where they earned a 4th place finish. With legends of the game Cr1t- and Sneyking sticking together as a highly effective support duo, this team can soar high.

Team Falcons roster:

  • Oliver “skiter” Lepko (PO1)
  • Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak (PO2)
  • Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf (PO3)
  • Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen (PO4)
  • Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu (PO5 / IGL)
  • Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling (Coach)

Tundra Esports

Tundra Esports has the potential to go all the way in any tournament they enter. They haven’t managed to lift a trophy this year but did earn a respectable 3rd place at ESL One Birmingham 2024, 4th place at Riyadh Masters 2024, and 3rd place at The International 2024 before suffering a heartbreaking reverse sweep courtesy of Gaimin Gladiators.

To make it to the finals of PGL Wallachia Season 2, they need to be on top form—especially PO2 stand-in MidOne and PO1 hard carry stand-in Shad.

Tundra Esports roster:

  • Indji “Shad” Lub (PO1 stand-in)
  • Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng (PO2 stand-in)
  • Neta “33” Shapira (PO3)
  • Martin “Saksa” Sazdov (PO4)
  • Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon (PO5)
  • David “MoonMeander” Tan (Coach)

Nigma Galaxy

Nigma Galaxy has a star-studded lineup featuring some of the most iconic players in high-impact positions, like the great Miracle in PO1 and SumaiL in PO2. On paper, this team should easily claim a podium finish, but in reality, they have struggled recently.

Plus, on Oct. 1, legendary Captain and support player KuroKy officially stepped away from the active roster and into a coaching role. That is a major change for the crew, but we can’t wait to see what Nigma Galaxy can pull off with KuroKy on the sidelines.

Nigma Galaxy roster:

  • Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi (PO1)
  • Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan (PO2)
  • Tony “No!ob” Assaf (PO3 stand-in)
  • Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi (PO4 stand-in)
  • Maroun “GH” Merhej (PO5)
  • Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi (Coach)

Azure Ray

A robust Chinese side is always a threat and despite some difficulties in 2024, Azure Ray is our favorite from the region in this event. Only Lou remains from last year’s roster, with the team undergoing a rebuild to create a powerhouse lineup.

With “planet” from LGD Gaming in the Soft Support (PO4) role, Azure Ray may have what it takes to secure a top-four finish at PGL Wallachia Season 2. But, again, they have had a rough year so far, so you can consider Azure Ray as our bold prediction for this event.

Azure Ray roster:

  • Lou “Lou” Zhen (PO1)
  • Gu “Han” Jiahan (PO2 on loan from Dark Horse)
  • Li “niu” Kongbo (PO3)
  • Lin “planet” Hao (PO4 on loan from LGD Gaming)
  • Yu “皮球” Yajun (PO5)

Please note: Team rosters in this guide are based on the latest available information. With the post-TI shuffle still underway, these lineups can change at a moment’s notice.

We can’t emphasize it enough: the post-TI chaos is real. The unpredictability that comes with said chaos makes tuning into events like PGL Wallachia S2 that much more exciting. All that being said, the four teams we’ve highlighted in our betting predictions seem like a lock to go the distance in Romania.
