What Are Fiat Payments?
Fiat is the term for government-issued currency such as: euros, pounds, dollars. Up until now, funding your Thunderpick account meant using crypto, or buying a gift card as a workaround. We’ve changed that and now allow card payments.
You can now deposit directly from your card, and the funds land in your Thunderpick wallet instantly. Everything else works exactly as it did before: you get the same odds, markets, casino, and rewards, just with more options to deposit!
One thing worth knowing: your balance and every bet you place are still settled in EUR, which remains our base currency. You can display your balance in USD, CAD, GBP, and other currencies, but the conversion happens at the rate applied at the time of the transaction, so small rounding differences may appear.
How To Deposit With A Card At Thunderpick
A card deposit takes under a minute. Here is the full process from a standing start:
- Log in to your Thunderpick account. If you do not have one yet, click Join in the top-right corner, enter your email, choose a secure password, and confirm you are at least 18 years old.
- Open the account activation email we send you and activate your account.
- Click Wallet in the top navigation bar.
- Select the Deposit tab.
- Choose your card as the payment method. Card options appear alongside the crypto list.
- Enter the amount you want to deposit. (Note a minimum deposit of 50 EUR is required)
- Enter your card details on the secure payment page and confirm the transaction. You may be asked to verify the payment with your bank via 3D Secure — this is a standard security step and takes a few seconds.
- Your funds appear in your wallet immediately. You are ready to play!
Before your first deposit: head to the Bonuses section to activate your welcome bonus. Bonuses have to be activated before you deposit, not after.
A note on account security: we strongly recommend you enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your account. It takes a minute and it is the single most effective thing you can do to protect your balance.
Whose card can I use? The card must belong to you and match the name on your Thunderpick account. Third-party payments are not accepted — this is a standard anti-money-laundering requirement and deposits from a card in someone else’s name will be rejected.

Managing Your Saved Cards
How Do I Add Or Remove A Card?
Once you have deposited, your card is saved so you do not have to enter the details again. You can remove a saved card at any time from the same screen.
How Many Cards Can I Have On My Account?
You can have up to five cards linked to your account. Each card added to your account must be in your own name.

What Is A Pre-Authorisation On My Card?
When making a deposit, your bank may briefly place a hold (known as pre-authorisation on the amount to verify the card is valid and the funds are available. It is not a second charge. The hold clears on its own, usually within 1-5 working days (however this will depend upon your provider). If you see two identical amounts on your statement and only one deposit in your Thunderpick account, this is almost always the reason.
Why was my card declined?
Card declines are usually decided by your bank rather than by us. The most common reasons are:
- The card is not in your own name, or the billing details do not match your account.
- Your bank blocks gambling transactions. Many banks let you toggle a gambling block on or off in their app.
- You are in a country where card deposits are not available.
- Insufficient funds, an expired card, or a daily spending limit on your account.
- The 3D Secure verification was not completed.
How Long Do Card Deposits Take?
Card deposits are instant.
Can I Change My Account Currency?
Yes. Click on your balance in the top navigation bar and choose from the currencies in the dropdown, including USD, EUR, CAD and others. Keep in mind that all transactions and bets are counted and settled in EUR, which is our default currency. The displayed value is relative to the rate at the time of the bet or transaction, so rounding differences can occur.
What Does “Bet At Least X To Withdraw” Mean?
A minimum of 100% of the value of each deposit has to be used in bets before you can withdraw, this is a 1x rollover requirement. This prevents Thunderpick being used as a trading platform and keeps us compliant with AML regulations. It applies to both card deposits and crypto deposits. If your first deposit received a 100% bonus, the requirement is higher. Read the first deposit bonus page for the full details.
