Overwatch World Cup 2026 Playoffs Schedule & Format
The OWWC 2026 Playoffs will take place from Sept. 12–13 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California during BlizzCon 2026.
After explosive Conference Cups and Online Qualifiers, 16 nations advanced to the Group Stage, held at the Busan Esports Arena in South Korea from Aug. 20–23. Teams were divided into four groups of four and played a single round-robin format, with each matchup played as a Ft3 (First-to-3) series.
Now, the top two teams from each group will proceed to the OWWC 2026 Playoffs, where the competition switches to a brutal single-elimination bracket to crown a new global champion. All matches will be played as Ft3 series.

Prize Pool Distribution
Blizzard has confirmed that the OWWC 2026 will feature a prize pool, but it hasn’t disclosed the amount publicly as of this writing.
According to Blizzard, participating teams will receive prize details directly from the developer. The rules also state that committee members are considered part of the team and are eligible to receive a share of the prize pool.

Saudi Arabia (#1)
Saudi Arabia enters the Playoffs as the favorites to win the OWWC 2026 outright – but only by a narrow margin.
Although Group B was not particularly strong, the defending champions were the only team to finish the Group Stage without dropping a single map. They confidently swept Australia, Mexico, and Great Britain 3–0 for a flawless 9–0 map record (+9 differential), making them one of the tournament’s leading contenders.
At the heart of the team’s success is an experienced roster comprising OWWC 2023 champions Quartz, Youbi, LBBD7, and SirMajed. Notably, Twisted Minds’ Quartz and Youbi are also among EMEA’s strongest players, having both triumphed at the OWCS World Finals in 2025 and finishing runners-up at both the Champions Clash and Midseason Championship in 2026.
While South Korea and the United States are arguably the team’s toughest rivals, Saudi Arabia’s opening matchup against Spain – which carries an 80% implied probability of victory – offers them a more favorable path to the OWWC 2026 Grand Final.

France (#2)
France has put on an impressive show at the OWWC 2026 and is our #2 pick to win the tournament outright.
They went 3–0 with a perfect 9–0 map record during the EMEA Qualifier, sweeping Spain, Poland, and Ireland. In the Group Stage, they beat juggernaut South Korea 3–2 before sweeping Denmark and Colombia 3–0 to finish with a 9–2 map record (+7 differential) and an 18–2 map record across those two stages.
France’s victory over South Korea is especially impressive. South Korea initially surged to a 2–0 lead following wins on Nepal and Neon Junction, but France answered with a stunning reverse sweep, taking New Junk City, Esperança, and Shambali Monastery to claim the series.
Though the French players don’t have the same experience or championship pedigree as Saudi Arabia or South Korea, Dip, Kio, KroxZ, aes, Xerion, and veteran support FDGod have performed brilliantly together. France also carries a 68% implied probability of beating Australia in their Playoffs opener, nudging them closer to the world title.

South Korea (#3)
South Korea is our #3 pick to win the OWWC 2026 outright, despite having what is arguably the strongest individual roster at the entire tournament.
For reference, five of the seven players – namely HeeSang, Stalk3r, JunBin, MAX, and CH0R0NG – play together on Crazy Raccoon, offering an unusually strong level of synergy for a national team. This is strengthened even further by Twisted Minds’ support Simple and Dallas Fuel’s DPS SeonJun.
Much of that strength is reflected directly in South Korea’s OWWC 2026 results. The team recorded an 8–3 map record (+5 differential), which included 3–0 sweeps of Colombia and Denmark. Their only defeat was an earlier 2–3 loss to France, and even that required a full five-game series.
However, South Korea’s opening match is against an unbeaten United States (9–3 map record in Group A), making this easily the most dangerous Quarterfinal opener. If they make it through, the odds suggest a revenge match against France is most likely, making a deep run all the more challenging to predict.
