We spoke with Dumau from Legacy ahead of their first games at TWC 2026. We spoke about the South American region, their rise to being a Top team and how expectations change.
Unlike last year, where you had to fight through NA Series 1 and the Closed Qualifiers, what’s it like to get directly invited this year?
I think it’s very nice because our team is getting better. That’s our main goal. But getting invited is. It’s much better. You don’t have to go through all the teams and all the qualifies and stuff.
Does it change the vibe in the team at all or is there like any extra expectations that come with it?
To be honest, for us it’s one more tournament that we have a chance to win. So our goal is just to win against team by team and then we can win the tournament after.
You’ve picked up some really high profile wins like the back to back CS Asia wins. Would you say that you’re one of the top teams that there’s a change in vibes?
I don’t think we have the pressure of being a top team. I think we are getting closer and closer and our goal is to be top one team. So I think our main goal is day by day, win against team by team. We know that if you do it consistently we can reach top one and reach tournaments, which is our goal. But the future. But for now it’s just step by step.
Are there any other Brazilian rosters you think might be in your shoes this time?
Like next year who can like step up?
I think MIBR, my MIBR is improving, but I don’t know how it’s gonna be. And for now that’s all I have in mind because for me Fury is already very good. You know, just in the teams that are behind.
You guys beat Falcons at the CS Asia Final and EWC, seeing that they’re now also at TWC, do you think you’re still gonna have their number at this event as well?
About beating them? Yeah, I think it’s gonna [be fun] against them, it’s always nice games. It’s some mind games. A lot of resilience when they play against each other. So I think that’s the fun games that we like to play and we hope to play. And I think if they play against them again, it’s gonna be much nicer because I think now we are getting the vibes again with our team.
And your opening match is against a team that you’ve previously beaten before with Parivision. Now that they have HObbit in, are you expecting that to play out any differently or do you think it’ll be more of the same?
I think the game is going to be a bit different because now we have art and it changed a lot about decisions of our team. And individually we are a bit more prepared because we played a tournament, we had more time to practice now. So I think it’s going to be better for us.
Between the two groups, do you think your group is the harder one or the other group is the harder one?
To be honest, I didn’t see any group. I don’t know. I don’t know who we are taking next.
…
I think our group. I think the other group is harder. The Falcons one. Yeah.
Who do you think is going to come first at the event and which team do you think is going to come last?
First us and last. Oh, this is maybe PARIVISION, because I believe we’re going to beat them.
