Dignitas is a British eSports organization currently based in the United States, New Jersey. After operating in the eSports industry for over two decades, Dignitas has become of the most recognizable (and iconic) international eSports brands, earning 18 world championships along the journey. Today, Dignitas fields teams across some of the eSports industry’s biggest games, including League of Legends (LoL), Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, and Valorant. If you’re looking for a historic eSports team to get behind, look no further than the legendary Dignitas! You can also follow their Instagram and Twitter to stay in the know.

Dignitas History: 2003 – Now

Dignitas came to life in 2003 – a time when the eSports industry was very small and yet to become the global force it is today. After a slow and uneventful start, Dignitas announced its name on the world stage after Chris Bullard won the FIFA Interactive World Cup (2005), which was the team’s first-ever world championship.

During this time, Dignitas had also branched out into the Battlefield 2 sector. This quickly saw their Battlefield 2 roster selected as Team of the Year (2006). Dignitas continued to spread its wings and compete across a variety of different games over the coming years, winning the Trackmania Nations (2007) and Quakecon (2007) tournaments.

In the 2010s, Dignitas expanded into several new games, such as Rocket League and League of Legends, which saw their success continue to skyrocket (literally). Arguably, one of the biggest highlights during this decade was when Dignitas won the Rocket League RLCS Season 5 Finals (2018), which made them deserved world champions.

Towards the end of 2019, Dignitas created a parent company titled New Meta Entertainment (NME), a new sports and entertainment company backed by an investor group consisting of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, Delaware North, Fertitta Entertainment, Susquehanna Private Equity Investments.

It’s a testament to the management of Dignitas that it’s been able to thrive and prosper for 20+ years with minimal problems or controversies. The organization has gone from strength to strength (in terms of both monetary value and rosters) while remaining true to its core values.
