VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff Schedule & Format

The VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff event occurs at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany. From Feb. 20 to March 1, 2024, we’ll see 11 teams compete for two spots at the upcoming VCT 2024 Masters Madrid tournament.

The action begins with a Group Stage (Feb. 20 to Feb. 25), which features three double-elimination GSL-style groups. All matches are best-of-three (BO3). The team who placed the highest in VALORANT Champions 2023, Fnatic, receives a bye in Group C. First-place teams in each group advance to the playoffs, while second-place teams advance to the Play-In.

The Play-In stage (Feb. 26) features a single Round-Robin group, where all matches are BO3 and the winning team advances to the playoffs. From Feb. 29 to March 1, 2024, the final four teams will compete in the Playoffs, which is a single-elimination bracket. The semifinals are BO3, and the Grand Final is best-of-five (BO5).

Teams Competing In VCT EMEA Kickoff

The best VALORANT teams from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region compete for only two spots at the Masters Madrid. You’ll find the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff teams below.

Gentle Mates won the Challengers Ascension event to claim a spot in the VCT 2024 EMEA league.

Our Predictions For VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff

Of all the VCT regions, EMEA is arguably the most predictable with a few teams standing head and shoulders above the rest in terms of historical data. You’ll find our not-so-surprising VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff betting predictions below.

1. Fnatic

In our opinion, and as the odds indicate, Fnatic is the favorite to win the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff. The team is the most decorated in the EMEA region, with wins at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo and VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo. A couple of Fnatic members also feature in our best VALORANT players of 2023 list. While Fnatic isn’t unbeatable, few teams can hope to match their experience and talent in the EMEA region.

Fnatic roster:

  • Emir “Alfajer” Beder
  • Leo “Leo” Jannesson
  • Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov
  • Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev
  • Jake “Boaster” Howlett (IGL)

2. Team Liquid

The one team that has proven they can beat Fnatic is Team Liquid, which they proved with their VCT 2023 EMEA League victory. Odds indicate Team Liquid has a shot at glory during the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff event, and a deep run is expected. With their new IGL, Enzo “Enzo” Mestari, and Keiko and Mistic joining the squad in November 2023, Team Liquid looks primed for an excellent year in VALORANT esports.

Team Liquid roster:

  • Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin
  • Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen
  • Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy
  • James “Mistic” Orfila
  • Enzo “Enzo” Mestari (IGL)
  • Nico “Harmii” Harms (Sub)

VCT 2024 China Kickoff Schedule & Format

The VCT China Kickoff event runs from Feb. 22 to March 2, 2024 at the Valo Arena in Shanghai, China. Like the EMEA event, we’ll watch 11 teams fight for two spots at VCT 2024 Masters Madrid.

The Group Stage features three double-elimination GSL-style groups, with EDward Gaming getting a bye in Group C due to their placement in VALORANT Champions 2023. All matches are BO3, and the Group Stage runs from Feb. 22 to Feb. 26, 2024. Teams who place first in their respective groups advance to the playoffs, while the runners-up advance to the Play-In stage.

The Play-In stage includes a single Round-Robin group and occurs on Feb. 27, with the best team advancing to the Playoffs stage. The VCT 2024 China Kickoff will conclude with the Playoffs stage (March 1 to 2), where four teams compete in a single-elimination bracket. In the Playoffs stage, the semifinals are BO3 and the Grand Final is BO5.

Our Predictions For VCT 2024 China Kickoff

It’s the first year that China has its own VCT regional league, and the ten partner teams were only revealed in December 2023. As a result, it was pretty challenging to put together these betting predictions, though we still have historical league data to use as a guide of sorts. Let’s take a look at our predictions!

1. EDward Gaming

With captain Guo “Haodong” Haodong leading EDward Gaming since 2020, the squad has the most experience in VALORANT esports out of all 11 teams competing. The team has also won all three recent VALORANT China Evolution Series events and placed 5-6th at VALORANT Champions 2023. All of these accolades make EDward Gaming the team to beat at the VCT 2024 China Kickoff.

EDward Gaming roster:

  • Zhang “Smoggy” Zhao
  • Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang
  • Wang “nobody” Senxu
  • Wan “CHICHOO” Shunzhi
  • Guo “Haodong” Haodong (IGL)
  • Tang “Muggle” Shijun (Sub)

2. FunPlus Phoenix

As an organization, FunPlus Phoenix earned a fourth-place finish at VALORANT Champions 2022 and won VCT 2022 Masters Copenhagen. However, their Chinese league roster was put together in 2023, so there’s not a lot of historical data to pull from. That said, the team is stacked with highly talented players—some even call them a “super team”—like Qu “Life” Donghao, who joined on Jan. 13, 2024 following the departure of Tang “TZH” Zhehao.

FunPlus Phoenix roster:

  • Zhang “AAAAY” Yang
  • Liang “Lysoar” Youhao
  • Kale “autumn” Dunne
  • Qu “Life” Donghao
  • Chang “BerLIN” Po-lin (IGL)

Alternative picks include JD Gaming and Bilibili Gaming, with the former signing a new roster in January 2024 and the latter showing some impressive results of late.
