We’ve recently seen an increased number of scams using the Thunderpick brand. These vary from traditional emails to DMs on Steam, Twitch, and other streaming platforms, to fully cloned websites using Thunderpick branding.
Many of these scams take the form of phishing attacks where the attacker mimics a Thunderpick rep and asks for money to be sent to a particular address. Please exercise vigilance when opening emails and other communications that don’t appear to come from Thunderpick.
Most suspicious emails are automatically directed to your trash or spam folder. Still, attackers are getting increasingly crafty and are now using direct messages on 3rd party communication apps that don’t have the same robust security as emails do.
We will never ask you to send a deposit in an email or any other channel. The only source for your deposit address is the deposit page after you sign into your account. Never share your complete deposit or withdrawal addresses via email, chat or other channels. We may at times ask you to verify the 1st and/or last 6 digits of your wallet address but never the complete address.
Also make sure to always:
- Check the email’s origin: Legitimate Thunderpick emails will always come from the @thunderpick.io domain. When receiving an email don’t just rely on the display name shown, instead make sure to uncover the actual email address used.
- Beware of account requests: Thunderpick will never ask you to create another account or to share your password. Never share your account credentials.
- Always deposit through Thunderpick: We’ll never ask you to send funds to a specific address. All deposits should always be made through the Thunderpick.io website.
- Turn on 2FA: Secure your account by turning on 2FA and never share your 2FA code with anyone else.
- When in doubt, take action: If you’re still uncertain about the authenticity of an email or message, don’t click on any links or provide personal information. Instead, take a screenshot of the message and contact us immediately to verify its legitimacy.
Please rest assured that your security is our top priority and our customer support team will be more than happy to help you out with any questions.
