G2 Esports’ History

G2 Esports was founded under the name “Gamers 2” by retired LoL pro Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez and German entrepreneur Jens Hilgers on Feb. 24, 2014. The name wouldn’t stick around for long, though. The organization rebranded to “G2 Esports” on Oct. 15, 2015 after qualifying for 2016 EU LCS Spring Season, signaling a fresh start.

Not long after, G2 was making strides in the LoL European pro circuit, securing multiple LCS and LEC titles. They even earned the runner-up spot at Worlds 2019! At the same time, the organization expanded to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), sparking a ripple effect into numerous other titles.
