VCT 2024 Americas Stage 2 Schedule & Format

Running for a month—June 22 to July 21, 2024—VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2 features 11 teams squaring off at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. The action will occur in two parts, starting with the Group Stage and closing out with the Playoffs Stage.

The 11 VALORANT teams will compete in the Group Stage from June 22 to July 14. It features two single round-robin groups: five teams in Group Alpha and six in Group Omega. Each team’s placement in the Group Stage is based on performances during the VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff event. In the Group Stage, all matches are best of three.

The top six best teams from VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1 and 2 (cross-stage rankings) will advance to the Playoffs. Running from July 17-21, the Playoffs feature the top six teams competing in a hybrid-elimination bracket. The first round (quarterfinals) is single-elimination, and from the semifinals onwards, the format changes to a double-elimination bracket.

The lower bracket final and grand final are best-of-five, and all other matches are best-of-three. When the dust settles, the top three teams will move on to the VALORANT Champions 2024 tournament in August 2024.

Our Predictions For VCT 2024 Americas Stage 2

With impressive teams across the board, VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2 is one of the toughest regional leagues to figure out. But we’re ready for the challenge and excited to bring you our top four predictions for this competitive event.

Please note: Our predictions are based on historical results from Kickoff, Stage 1, and Masters events in VCT 2024: Americas, combined with a healthy dose of the author’s expert opinion. Never interpret these predictions as betting advice to act upon. Always gamble responsibly. You must be 18+ to play.

1. 100 Thieves

100 Thieves was nowhere to be found during VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff, ending in last place. However, in Stage 1, the squad bounced back with incredible vigor to win the event and then claimed a 4th-place finish at Masters Shanghai.

Boostio could lead 100 Thieves to the top spot at VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2 and possibly even the VALORANT Champions 2024 crown. After all, the American superstar climbed the mountain once with Evil Geniuses in 2023, becoming a world champion. 100 Thieves has improved the most throughout the VCT 2024 season, and we predict they will hit peak performance during Stage 2, with Cryocells racking up multiple match MVP awards.

100 Thieves roster:

  • Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
  • Sean “bang” Bezerra
  • Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban
  • Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic
  • Kelden “Boostio” Pupello (IGL)
  • Anthony “Zikz” Gray (Coach)
  • Michael “Mikes” Hockom (Coach)

2. NRG

Consider NRG earning 2nd place as our bold prediction for this event. The team didn’t qualify for Masters Madrid or Masters Shanghai. However, on paper, NRG’s squad looks super strong. And in preparation for VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2, NRG recently (May 31) re-signed FNS and som, confirming a frightening roster.

If NRG needs any help during VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2, world champion Demon1 is on the bench—and he’s widely considered one of the best VALORANT players. The roster also boasts Ethan, another world champion who led Evil Geniuses to claim the VALORANT Champions 2023 crown.

The thing is, NRG could crush most of their opponents or drop out before the Playoffs Stage. That’s just how unpredictable the event and team form is right now.

NRG roster:

  • Austin “crashies” Roberts
  • Victor “Victor” Wong
  • Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
  • Sam “s0m” Oh
  • Pujan “FNS” Mehta (IGL)
  • Max “Demon1” Mazanov (Sub)
  • Chet “Chet” Singh (Coach)
  • Tanishq “Tanizhq” Sabharwal (Coach)

3. G2 Esports

We predict G2 Esports will claim a podium finish at VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2 and, therefore, the final spot for the region at the VALORANT Champions 2024 event. The team has improved progressively throughout the season, placing 5th in Kickoff and 2nd in Stage 1, then earning a 3rd place at Shanghai Masters.

G2 Esports currently sits in 5th place on the cross-stage leaderboard. Can they beat the likes of KRÜ Esports, Cloud9, and Sentinels to claim a place in the Stage 2 Playoffs, or will they falter just before the finish line? We can’t wait to find out!

G2 Esports roster:

  • Jonah “JonahP” Pulice
  • Trent “trent” Cairns
  • Nathan “leaf” Orf
  • Jacob “icy” Lange
  • Jacob “valyn” Batio (IGL)
  • Josh “JoshRT” Lee (Coach)
  • Peter “shhhack” Belej (Coach)

4. Sentinels

On March 24, 2024, Sentinels lifted the Masters Madrid trophy after a dramatic Grand Final, beating Gen.G Esports 3-2. Since their victory, Sentinels’ form has dropped quite a bit. The squad failed to qualify for Masters Shanghai, ending 7th-8th in VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1.

Sentinels are currently in the middle of the pack with a 3-3 record in the cross-stage group, and recent results indicate they may not make it to VALORANT Champions 2024. Apologies to TenZ fans, as we predict the celebrated Canadian pro will fall just short of glory with Sentinels.

Sentinels roster:

  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • Zachary “zekken” Patrone
  • Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi
  • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro
  • Amine “johnqt” Ouarid (IGL)
  • Rahul “curry” Nemani (Sub)
  • Adam “kaplan” Kaplan (Coach)
  • Drew “DrewSpark” Spark-Whitworth (Coach)
