To make the most of it, place it strategically to stall retakes<\/a>, trap spike interactions, and stop lurkers. You can also combo it with smokes or grenades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEQUIP a viscous fragment of your mutation. FIRE to throw. The fragment deploys upon hitting the ground, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Held enemies are Deafened, and Decayed. Enemies can destroy the trap before activation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interceptor is a powerful ability that can negate most enemy projectile-based utilities, such as flashes, grenades, rockets, and walls. Its purpose is simple: force enemies to take gunfights without support. The ability is best used during retakes and post-plants<\/a>, as it can completely shut down util-heavy pushes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just make sure you place it out of sight and activate it at the right time. It\u2019s loud, easily destroyed, and predictable if not used properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On attack, Veto plays as a flexible Sentinel who enables aggressive map control rather than typical slow executes. Chokehold is primarily used to hold flanks, gather intel, deny retakes, or disrupt defenders. When you’re getting comfortable with how to play Veto, his kit takes utility out of the equation and forces old-fashioned gunfights, you\u2019ll want to pair it with the right weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old faithfuls like the Vandal<\/strong> and Phantom<\/strong> are exceptional all-around options, especially on defense, because Interceptor forces enemies to swing dry into common choke points. Plus, with Evolution active, you\u2019ll benefit from +10% Equip speed, +10% Fire rate, +10% Reload speed, and +10% Recovery speed for more controlled gunfights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Stinger <\/strong>and Judge<\/strong> shine for aggressive and off-angle play, particularly for close-quarters combat and around tight angles. The Operator<\/strong> is still viable, although it\u2019s a lot less forgiving if you make a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Veto Good For Beginners?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No. Veto is not the most beginner-friendly agent in VALORANT<\/a>. His kit is mechanically tricky to use correctly, with each ability having a strong emphasis on timing, positioning, and placement. For example, if you misuse his teleport, you\u2019ll either waste the utility or die. It\u2019s that brutal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
