With First Stand just around the corner this March, Thunderpick has all the info<\/a> you might need to get caught up with the teams competing at the first international tournament of the year as it starts in Sao Paulo. The second of 2 parts<\/a>, we’ll cover the teams that will be representing the best of the West: the LCS (North America), LEC (Europe, Middle East and Africa aka EMEA), and CBLOL (Central and South America). Let’s take a first look at the teams that might lift the trophy at First Stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Stand CBLOL Representatives: LOUD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LOUD are no stranger to international competition, and with their home crowd in attendance for First Stand they are poised to be a strong competitor in Group B. Their path to get here was not easy and certainly not what most LOL Esports fans would have predicted however, with a 3-4 record landing them 4th place. LOUD\u2019s make-or-break moment came when they made changes to their roster ahead of the upper bracket finals match and fielded a new Mid Laner in longtime veteran of the scene, Envy. Envy himself is no stranger to the professional circuit for CBLOL with a number of top 4 placements over the past decade as well as a win in the second split of 2020 but had missed playing at this level over the 2025 season. This updated roster would go on to beat the RED Canids Kalunga twice over the course of the next two series. The question now however is will the time that this new roster has had to practice together be enough for them to make a statement here at First Stand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMEA’s Frontrunners: LYON<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Joining LOUD in group B are LYON. LYON as an organization made sweeping roster changes for the 2026 season including building around long-time Mid Laner Saint as well as adding players like Inspired and Berserker to the roster. The team began the 2026 first split in inconsistent territory with a 1-2 record coming out of the swiss stage, but they have since really come together and almost embraced the \u201csuper team\u201d status that some people were expecting of them. Of particular note is Inspired\u2019s performance where he is leading Group B in KDA among all Junglers. They play a largely risk-adverse style of league, but with the level of competition rising, will the strategy of waiting for big payouts bite them when the total number of errors goes down?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G2 Looks to keep the train running into First Stand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

G2 Esports are the single most dominant western team in LOL Esports history. Like the 2 other teams listed here their season started off lower than their legacy would have you expect. With a 6-5 record in the LEC regular season they entered the playoffs ranked 7th seed. With an unbeaten run and dominant performances from Caps and Skewmond especially, G2 brought themselves to their 10th straight LEC finals. This level of consistency at top level competition will serve G2\u2019s roster of veteran international competitors well and they have the historic case to be made that they can perform at this level. The question for First Stand is have we seen the best this organisation can offer, or will their time at First Stand be enough to place them amongst the best teams in the world of LOL Esports once more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
