Bad News Eagles: Overview – Place Your Bets on Bad News Eagles

Bad News Eagles is a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports team from Kosovo. Currently, they’re without an organization to represent. In 2022, the official Bad News Eagles Twitter account (@_badnewseagles) tweeted:

‘Bad News Eagles are currently looking for an organisation to represent. We are proving ourselves as a top team and are excited for what the future will bring.’

Despite this, Bad News Eagles continue to compete in major CS: GO tournaments. They kicked off 2023 by taking part in the CCT South Europe Series #2 (B-Tier), where they took home $10,000 and finished 2nd place behind Aurora Gaming. They also recently played in the IEM Brazil 2023 Europe Closed Qualifier, where they lost 2-0 to ENCE

Bad News Eagles History: 2021 – Now

Bad News Eagles was founded in 2021 to compete in CS: GO leagues and tournaments. The founding members (who all remain with Bad News Eagles today) are:

  • Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg (coach)
  • Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci (in-game leader)
  • Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti
  • Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci
  • Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi
  • Rigon “rigoN” Gashi

Originally, the roster started out by playing in LAN cafes in Kosovo. They would also play CS: GO events in both Kosovo and Albania. Through the FACEIT Pro League, the Bad News Eagles pro players were able to make reasonable money and ultimately start to establish themselves in the industry. In interviews, Bad News Eagles players have credited the FPL regimen for allowing them to become hard shooters with more confidence before they ultimately made it to the world’s stage.

In late 2021, Bad News Eagles achieved one of their first goals by entering the HLTV (Half-Life TV) top 30 rankings. Coming in at rank 21, they almost cracked the top 20, which would have been a considerable achievement for all of the players.

Impressively, Bad News Eagles quickly started to break down the industry walls by becoming the very first team from their region (the Balkans) to make it to CS: GO Regional Major Rankings (RMR) in 2022. Regarding this, Rigon “rigoN” Gashi said, “We’ve already written history, but we want to take it to the next level.” This highlighted that Bad News Eagles aren’t simply around to make up the numbers – they want to go right to the top!

Make no doubt about it; Bad News Eagles are here to stay. If they can get a partnership with a big brand name, then it will likely push them even further forwards as they look to climb the rankings. The days of playing in LAN cafes are over. Now, anything is possible for the Bad News Eagles. Keep up to date with the team by following their Instagram and Twitter.

Bad News Eagles: Divisions, Games, Rosters

Bad News Eagles exclusively competes in CS: GO. Right now, they don’t have any other rosters for different game titles. Instead, their focus is entirely on CS: GO. After all, it’s what their players, from Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci to Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi, spent countless hours in LAN cafes training for. With that said, you can read more about all of Bad News Eagles CSGO team directly below.

CS:GO

The Bad News Eagles CS GO roster consists of 5 talented and ambitious players led by Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg, the coach. James Banks is the manager, and Kieran “KayJay” Playfair is the assistant coach.

Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg (coach)

“Devilwalk” is a former Swedish CS: GO player turned coach. The highlight of his career was playing as a Support Riflet for Fnatic, a team that is consistently near the top of the CS: GO world rankings. Since retiring in 2018, “Devilwalk” has been a full-time coach for the likes of GODSENT, SMASH Esports, NoChance, and others. At the beginning of 2023, though, he decided to join Bad News Eagles and is determined to turn them into a major success.

In response to “Devilwalk” joining as a coach, “sinnopsyy” (the in-game leader for Bad News Eagles) said that “This is a huge step for us, we are really happy that he joined us […] our confidence is higher than ever with Devilwalk by our side!”.

Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci (in-game leader)

“sinnopsyy” is the in-game leader (and Rifler) for Bad News Eagles. He went pro in 2018 and joined the Eagles in 2022. As a mature player, he’s a level-headed competitor that others can look to during those intense in-game moments.

Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti

A trusty Support Rifler who knows how to handle the pressure. Interestingly, “SENER1” only started playing professionally in 2019 when he was already 23 years old.

Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci

“gxx” plays as AWPer. He credits FalleN for inspiring him to play CS: GO professionally.

Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi

Having previously played for KlikTech, Team uNiQUE, Phoenix, Team Secret, and Team BLINK, “juanflatroo” is now happy and settled with Bad News Eagles. He plays as Entry Fragger.

Rigon “rigoN” Gashi

“rigoN” is an Entry Fragger with plenty of tournament experience.
