In the Closed Qualifier (June 3-4), four teams will compete for one spot in the main event of EWC 2026. Two teams will receive direct invites, while the other two hail from the aforementioned Open Qualifier events.

The top three squads from the Open Qualifier will earn spots in the Closed Qualifier. A total of eight teams (five invited, three from the Open Qualifier) will duke it out in the EWC 2026 South America Closed Qualifier from June 1-3.
There’s one spot in the main EWC 2026 tournament on the line. The format is a double-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three, except for the Grand Final, which is best-of-five.

EWC 2026 MESWA Qualifier Details
The Middle East and South West Asia regional qualifiers for EWC 2026 begin with two Open Qualifiers. Both Open Qualifiers feature single-elimination bracket formats, with best-of-one matches leading up-the Grand Finals, which are best-of-three.
The first Open Qualifier runs from May 29-30, with two Closed Qualifier spots up for grabs. From May 31-June 1, the second Open Qualifier will serve as a last-chance event for squads seeking to compete in the Closed Qualifier.
Eight teams in total, four invited and four from the Open Qualifiers, will compete in the EWC 2026 MESWA Closed Qualifier, from June 2-3. There’s one spot at the main event of EWC 2026 on the line. The format is a double-elimination bracket, with a best-of-five Grand Final, and all other matches best-of-three.
Matches are played online via the Dubai servers.
EWC 2026 Western Europe Qualifier Details
In DOTA 2 esports, Western Europe is considered one of the strongest regions, and as such, there are three spots at the main event of EWC 2026 available.
The action begins with an Open Qualifier, running from May 29-30, with two spots in the Closed Qualifier on the line. Teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket, featuring best-of-one matches. Qualification matches are best-of-three.
In the Closed Qualifier (May 31-June 2), eight teams, including those who came out on top of the Open Qualifier and direct invites, will compete in a double-elimination bracket. The Grand Final is best-of-five, and all other matches are best-of-three.

EWC 2026 Eastern Europe Qualifier Details
The EWC 2026 qualification process for Eastern European teams begins with the Open Qualifier (May 29-30), where all who signed up will compete for two spots in the Closed Qualifier. In the Open Qualifier, the format is a single-elimination bracket, with most matches best-of-one, except for the best-of-three qualification matches.
Once the dust settles over the Open Qualifier, the two qualified teams will join six direct invites in the Closed Qualifier. Eight teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket from June 1-3.
The format of the EWC 2026 Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier is a double-elimination bracket, featuring a best-of-five Grand Final. All other matches are best-of-three.

EWC 2026 Southeast Asia Qualifier Details
From May 29-30, squads looking to compete at the EWC 2026 will begin their journey in the Open Qualifier. The format is a single-elimination bracket, with most matches best-of-one, except for qualification matches, which are best-of-three. Two teams will earn spots in the Closed Qualifier.
In the EWC 2026 Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier, a total of eight teams (two from Open Qualifiers, six invited) will compete in a double-elimination bracket. The tournament is scheduled to run from June 3-5. Teams are competing for two spots in the EWC 2026 main event. The Grand Final is best-of-five. All other matches are best-of-three.

The Chinese qualifier is an outlier in the Road to EWC 2026. It took place much earlier than the other events, from May 1-3. The tournament’s full name was ESL Challenger China Season 3 x ACL 2026, hosted by ESL and Hero Esports.
On LAN at the Jixi Show Hall in Shanghai, China, eight teams competed for their share of the $172,000 prize pool and one spot at the main event of EWC 2026.
A household name in Chinese DOTA, Vici Gaming were the victors. They got off to a solid start, beating Cloud Dawning 1–0 in the Upper Bracket. However, Vici Gaming were stunned by Team Resilience, losing 0–2 and dropping to the Lower Bracket.
With their backs against the wall, one loss away from elimination, Vici Gaming made an incredible Lower Bracket run. They beat Roar Gaming 2–0, Yakult Brothers 2–1, and reverse-swept another favorite, Xtreme Gaming, to claim a spot in the Grand Final. In the EWC 2026 China qualifier’s Grand Final, Vici Gaming took revenge on Team Resilience by defeating their opponents 3–1 to claim the sole spot at the main event of the EWC 2026.
