Jimpphat spoke with us ahead of Thunderpick World Championship Finals 2026. Joining the team with the goal to improve on Aurora’s Top 4 finish last year.
Do you think you guys have the harder group or the easier one?
So in our group there is Falcons on the other side. Right. And then on the other, other side there is FURIA and Legacy. I think. So actually I’m not really sure. I think these four teams are really good, like the kind of the top dogs in a way. So I think both are really good but I think Falcons is a really strong one. So I don’t know.
There a team from the other group that you would want to play once you get into playoffs?
We haven’t played Legacy and they have been like really solid team as well. Like they’ve been beating good teams and stuff like this and yet with our roster we haven’t played them. So Legacy I would say.
9z is your opening matchup and you beat them last time you guys played. Now that you guys have an adjusted roster from that time. Are there any challenges that come with playing previous opponents with a new team?
Yeah, I mean I would say that of course like they will now kind of have like both of us will have like more preparation because we can see like what we did against each other and we need to kind of watch out of course that we don’t do the same things in a way because then they will know.
But at the same time it’s just important that we kind of like keep doing what we are good at, you know, and not overthink about it and going to game with 9z like as I said we beat them last time but still of course it’s not anyway like we underestimate them. So we will just go there and keep the like head cool in a way and just do our stuff and see how it will be.
Speaking of adjustments, obviously you spent over two years at MOUZ before joining Aurora. What was the biggest adjustment when changing over teams like that?
I would say that like the whole environment changed like all of the staff and players and coach like it is all brand new for me and MOUZ was the only tier one team that I ever played in. So I only know like how things are there and when I came to Aurora then I needed to kind of like readjust everything and learn or start from the beginning and see, like, how things are done here in a way.
So I would say that, like the environment overall.
The Turkish fans were some of the loudest that we had last year. Now that the roster is becoming more international, are you still seeing that same sort of support or do you think there’s been like a change?
I would say that there is. Like, I don’t know how it was previously for them with the full roster, but I would say, like, right now, like, at least compared to MOUZ, I feel much more, like supported in a way because of these Turkish fans. They’re really like, they really cheer for you and they want to use the success, you know.
And I can like, see every time I make like a tweet or post something about our games, they always writing like, let’s go, let’s go, you know, and they always like, giving the full support. And it’s not only like, few people, it’s like hundreds of people at this point. So it’s really nice to see, you know, because in MOUZ, we didn’t have this kind of fan base in a way. And now with that Turkish, like, roster or the core three of them, we have this still. So it’s really nice to see it.
The org finished fourth last time that we were here for TWC, and you’re one of the teams that is on an upward trajectory results-wise. Do you think you’re like one of the favorites to improve on last year’s performance?
Yeah, I would say it’s my first time, like, personally here in this tournament, so I’m just looking forward how it will be and how things are done here, you know, in a way. But at the same time, I would say like, like, as I said before, like Falcons, FURIA, Legacy, we are like the number four teams, like the best four teams, if you could say so.
And then the others are like kind of there to upset and see, like how strong they are and stuff like this. Like, it’s really good chance for them as well to show because it’s like a really good tournament, you know, and there’s not a lot of teams, so if you win a couple of games, it’s really good already.
But yeah, I would say that of course, high hopes in a way. We want to perform and succeed well, so let’s see how it will go. But I’m really looking forward for the tournament.
Overall, I would say awesome. I mean, we’ve been asking this one to all of the teams. Which team do you think is going to come first and which team do you think is coming last?
First? Like, Win the tournament? Aurora, I would say. Aurora, of course. I. I want us to believe we win last one. Last one is tough. I’m not sure even sure what teams they are on, but there is.
…
I will say NiP. I will say no hatred. Nothing towards them. But I picked them.
