Teams Competing In LEC Winter 2024

There are ten European teams competing in the LEC 2024 Winter Season, each vying for a share of the €80,000 prize pool and coveted LEC points.

Karmine Corp will replace Astralis in the LEC after purchasing a majority stake (66.7%) in the organization’s slot for €17.3 million. With major roster changes, including hiring coach YamatoCannon and players Bo and Upset, KCorp aims to strengthen its position in the European pro scene.

Additionally, Excel Esports rebranded to GiantX following a merger with Giants Gaming, retaining Odoamne, Peach, and Patrik and acquiring Jackies and IgNar. Similarly, KOI has reverted to Rogue after ending its partnership with Infinite Reality, retaining Szygenda, Larssen, and Comp, and adding Makroon and Zoelys.

Our Predictions For LEC Winter 2024

Need help deciding on your LEC Winter 2024 outright bets? Here is our analysis of the top 4 contenders for the LoL Winter title.

Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.

1. G2 Esports

As the fan favorite, G2 Esports is seen as the most likely team to win the 2024 LEC Winter title. But that’s hardly a surprise. The Berlin-based powerhouse had an exceptional run in 2023, clinching the LEC Winter and Summer splits and Season Finals title, earning them the top seed for Europe at Worlds.

With a star-studded roster, G2 consistently demonstrated immense skill in the LEC, exemplified by their unmatched team synergy. While there is no certainty in the European LoL esports scene, the Kings of Europe are the popular choice at LEC Winter 2024, with comparatively lower odds than other teams.

G2 Esports roster:

  • Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik
  • Martin “Yike” Sundelin
  • Rasmus “Caps” Winther
  • Steven “Hans Sama” Liv
  • Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle

2. Fnatic

Entering LEC 2024, Fnatic offers a mix of potential and uncertainty. Specifically, the departure of Rekkles to T1 Academy and the acquisition of ex-Kwangdong Freecs support Jun mark a significant roster change that questions his adaptation and synergy with players like Oskarinin and Razork.

Historically strong in best-of-one matchups, Fnatic’s inconsistency in Playoffs also raises questions about their resilience when put under stress. This point is evident in their betting odds, which reflects cautious optimism, particularly in light of their recent roster change.

For bettors, Fnatic may be the second-favorite team on paper, but there are doubts about their success at LEC Winter 2024 due to their past challenges and inconsistent performance.

Fnatic roster:

  • Óscar “Oscarinin” Jiménez
  • Iván “Razork” Díaz
  • Marek “Humanoid” Brázda
  • Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek
  • Yoon “Jun” Se-jun

3. Team Heretics

Team Heretics is a formidable contender in the LEC 2024 Winter Split, bolstered by the reunion of ex-G2 stars Wunder and Perkz with veteran jungler Jankos. This move dramatically strengthens the team’s top side, with the trio’s trophy-laden tenure at G2 Esports potentially infusing them with a massive winning edge.

When you combine the coaching mastery of Peter Dun with Team Heretics’ historical success and experience, it’s easy to see them as a threat to the frontrunners. A potential disruptor in the 2024 Winter Split, Team Heretic’s odds may also be potentially attractive to bettors seeking greater value for their wagers.

Team Heretics roster:

  • Martin “Wunder” Hansen
  • Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski
  • Luka “Perkz” Perković
  • Victor “Flakked” Tortosa
  • Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser

4. Karmine Corp

As the newest entrant to the LEC 2024 season, KCorp is an underdog with surprisingly good odds. The team boasts a strong lineup, retaining three high-skill solo laners and acquiring two ex-Vitality players (Bo and Upset). Plus, they have coach YamatoCannon who brings a strategic advantage.

Although they face stiff competition from established powerhouses like Fnatic and G2 Esports, KCorp’s odds suggest they should not be underestimated, particularly if Saken can come to the table. However, their inexperience in the LEC casts some doubt over how their skills will translate.

In this case, Karmine Corp’s performance at LEC 2024 Winter will be crucial in determining their overall standing in the league. Considering all these factors, KCorp could be viewed as a strong and potentially rewarding team to bet on, with the potential to cause significant upsets in the LEC.

Karmine Corp roster:

  • Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet
  • Zhou “Bo” Yangbo
  • Lucas “Saken” Fayard
  • Elias “Upset” Lipp
  • Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé
