The MongolZ’s History
The MongolZ were founded by Tuvshinbileg Lkhagvasuren on Aug. 20, 2013 with an initial focus on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). Not long after, the Mongolian team made a name for themselves with notable victories at ASUS ROG Masters and Intel Extreme Masters X Taipei in 2016.
The MongolZ also branched out into Dota 2, though this expansion was met with significant difficulty and the team disbanded in 2017. Around the same time, The MongolZ began to lose momentum in CS:GO, falling short of qualifying for major international events.
These challenges culminated in the CS team temporarily disbanding in late 2022. But on April 3, 2023, The MongolZ returned with a roster comprising ex-IHC Esports members. Under the leadership of coach Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat, the reformed squad immediately bounced back to clinch wins at key qualifying events.
As of late 2024, The MongolZ are a dominant force locally and in mid-tier CS2 tournaments, securing spots at premier competitions against globally recognized teams. They also expanded to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and VALORANT, where they have begun establishing a foothold.

The MongolZ’s VALORANT Team
Building on the success of their CS2 roster, The MongolZ ventured into VALORANT in March 2024 with an all-Mongolian lineup that previously competed under the Imperial banner. Despite an initial barring from competing in the Hong Kong/Taiwan and Japan circuits, the team was eventually allowed to play in the Southeast Asia region.
By November 2024, The MongolZ had secured 1st and 2nd place finishes in MVT 3 Stages 1 and 2, respectively, and a 3rd place finish in the MVT 2: Finals. Despite failing to advance to Stage 3 of the Challengers League 2024 Southeast Asia, the team achieved an impressive 17W-8L record and currently ranks 23rd in the Asia Pacific region.

The MongolZ’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Team
The team may be new, but The MongolZ have already made a splash in the MLBB competitive scene. Since entering the scene on Jan. 17, 2024, the squad has secured the runner-up spots at both MESA Legends Series 4 and MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 qualifiers, falling to IHC Esports on both occasions.
Unperturbed, The MongolZ exacted their revenge at the ESN National Championship 2024 by beating IHC 4-1 in the finals. With $7,326 in prize money and a strong foundation to build upon, The MongolZ are proving they have what it takes to make a lasting impact in the MLBB esports scene.
