Who Owns

VP was acquired by the Armenian investor Aram Karamanukyan, who bought it from the Russian esports conglomerate ESforce Holding in September 2022. Although he initially stepped into the CEO role, Karamanukyan soon handed the reins to Nikolai Petrossian and maintained his position as an investor.

When Was Created?

Established in November 2003, VP is one of the world’s oldest esports organizations. In 2015, the Russian firm ESforce Holdings, linked to the social media platform VK, took ownership of VP. This continued until late 2022, when Armenian entrepreneur Aram Karamanukyan took over.

VP’s transition from ESforce Holding was met with controversy. Critics viewed the move as a strategy to sidestep sanctions during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with the team choosing to operate under Karamanukyan’s Armenian flag instead.

How Does Make Money?

VP generates money through diverse revenue channels, from sponsorships and tournament winnings to merchandise sales and creating engaging content for streaming. Endorsements and public appearances also contribute to the organization’s financial ecosystem.
