The game industry is developing more and more every day. In addition, new games are being released, each more interesting than the other. All you need to enter the colorful world of the gaming industry is to find the genre that appeals to you. There are lots of genres in the game industry such as Sandbox, Battle royale game, Real-time strategy (RTS), Shooters (FPS and TPS), Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), and so on.  We want to talk about one of the top games of the battle royale game genres lately, Fortnite. So what is Fortnite? Let’s examine our answer to the question in detail.

Forth knight, Fortnite, For tonight?

What is the right Fornite pronunciation? Without going into the issue of how many people mispronounce the name of this game, we can begin with a simple definition. Fortnite is a video game, in the most basic sense. If we list the exciting features of this video game, we can say that it has colorful and exciting graphics and enjoyable dance moves.

It also allows you to use the in-game currency. It was released by Epic Games in 2017. Survival Mode, which made Fortnite known worldwide, was added to the game in September 2017.

Fortnite – E3 2017 Gameplay Trailer

Launched by Epic Games, Fortnite has approximately 350 million registered users. When we look at the number of active players monthly, it is played by an average of 80 million players. Even though some sources say that Fortnite is losing its popularity, on the contrary, we see that the number of players in Fortnite is increasing day by day.

There are actually many reasons why Fortnite has become so popular. The most important of these is that the game is free-to-play. You can be good at the game without spending money on items other than cosmetics in the game, and that’s a great feature.

The game mostly appeals to young audiences and it does not attract the attention of mature people, but it would not be wrong to say that there are also those who play. Unlike other Battle Royale themed games such as Apex Legends, Warzone, PUBG, Fortnite appeals to children.

How Fortnite Is Played?

In this game, you can collect materials by dismantling the surrounding environment, including walls, stairs, and other structures. Building, finding the target on the map and building a defensive fortress around it, and defending this target from invading enemies are all part of the core gameplay.

You can find traps and weapons by completing missions using this cycle. You can drop cards and improve your features by combining the best of these cards. The graphics are also appealing and adorable, the gunplay is enjoyable, and the break-collect-build cycle is very addictive.

Let’s take a look at the game’s modes together while we’re on the subject, shall we?

Fortnite Game Modes

When we say Fortnite, people usually think of the Battle Royale mode. As everyone is aware, Epic’s game Fortnite includes a variety of modes. We can divide them into the major game modes and the core game modes.

If we want to rank the major modes in Fortnite, there are three of them:

Battle Royale

It’s one of the most widely used mods. In this mode, players are left on an island with no weapons. Players abandoned on the island must begin searching for weapons and supplies to survive. Players can choose to play in 4-2 teams or solo. A maximum of 100 people can attend each match, and they compete to see who can last the longest.

Creative

It is a sandbox option. Players in Creative mode have the option of creating their custom maps and matches. Jumping courses and some races can be done in this mode.

Save the World

It is Fortnite’s story game mode where players team together to fight zombies. Furthermore, many tasks can be done, such as gathering materials and defending dwellings and bases from potential attacks.

Moreover, there are 7 core game modes that we can list. The core game modes are:

  • Solo: In this mode, you can go into a battle alone to be the last one standing.
  • Duos: You can team up with a friend and take out the rest of the players.
  • Trios: In Trios mode, you can attend a battle with Three-Person Squads in a classic Battle Royale.
  • Squads: As a team, you must outlast all of the other squads vying for victory.
  • Fortnite Team Rumble: It provides players a calm environment to play Fortnite. Two 16-player teams are fighting to be the first to attain a certain number of eliminations. Also, in this mode, players can respawn as many times as they want to complete quests and challenges.
  • Battle Lab: In Solo, Duos, and other battle royale game variants, Battle Lab is the default island where you can play. You can even make up your own rules, such as altering gravity and other variables not found in other modes. You can use the bot grenades to spawn.
  • Arena: Each placement and kill made in the Arena, a competitive mode, earns points called ‘Hype.’

What Season is Fortnite On?

Fornite started its first season after months of release in 2017. Since then, there have been so many seasons. Now it is on Chapter Three, season one, which started on Dec. 5, 2021.

What is Fortnite In-Game Currency?

If you are wondering what is in the Fornite item shop, we will answer your questions quickly. Players can choose from various cosmetic items in Fortnite’s in-game market. V-Bucks, defined as in-game currency, can be used to purchase these cosmetic items. But these purchased items are just for decoration. Unfortunately, they do not give you any advantages in the game.

Fortnite Battle Pass

You must have been fascinated by the pickaxes, emojis, and dance moves used by other players while playing the game. In fact, you may be thinking to yourself, “I wish I had one of these.” Why not make your game more enjoyable by purchasing the Fortnite Battle Pass?

Unlike the free ticket you receive when you first start the game, the Fortnite Battle Pass gives you the opportunity to win additional content. Levels in the Fortnite Battle Pass are similar to the free tickets you are given. Your chances of acquiring better content increase as you level up.

Last but not least, according to statistics, Fortnite has made nearly $1 billion since its release. It’s no surprise that it’s generating so much money, With all of the special discounts on V-Bucks and the Fortnite Battle Pass. After all, every gamer desires more powerful weapons and skins, especially if the gamers are primarily young people.

What Platforms Is Fortnite Played?

Since Fortnite is such a widespread game and appeals to people of almost all ages, it can be played on almost all platforms. These are PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and even Android.

While Battle Royale and Creative modes are active on all platforms, Save the World mode is only playable on PC, MacOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
