Heroic’s History

Heroic was founded in March 2013 as a “casual home” for Danish players in Copenhagen, helping players get to tournaments, facilitating the payment of tournament fees, and distributing prize winnings. Heroic essentially supported rising talents, like the legendary Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, while hosting community esports events in the capital city. But this quickly changed.

The organization was acquired by the Danish esports venture RFRSH in 2016, when it became the home for SK Gaming’s former CS:GO lineup. This marked a new chapter for Heroic. The team achieved massive success in Counter-Strike and expanded to other esports titles, including League of Legends, Battlefield 4, Starcraft II, and Hearthstone.

In 2018, Heroic was sold to Seranades Global Inc. in a divestment to comply with WESA and Valve’s multi-team ownership rules. The team was sold a third time to the Norwegian organization Omaken Sports in February 2021 before being acquired by Heroic Group AS on Aug. 8, 2023, in a 56 million NOK ($5.25 million) deal brokered by ULTI Agency, Krow Bidco AS.

Heroic’s Counter-Strike 2 Team

Heroic reigns as a titan in the Counter-Strike 2 arena, but that’s hardly a surprise. The Norwegian powerhouse boasts an impressive trophy cabinet, which includes 1st place at the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023, 2nd place at IEM Rio Major 2022, and 2nd place at IEM Katowice in 2023.

In 2023, Heroic also held the #1 HLTV World Rating for 24 weeks, a testament to the team’s unrelenting ferocity. Despite a roster overhaul in 2024, the Norwegian powerhouse is determined to dominate again, embracing the heat and re-igniting the scene with their explosive plays.

The team comprises a blend of both established and up-and-coming talent, and is expected to make waves this season.

Beyond this, Heroic has also dabbled in Fortnite. They’re represented by Thomas “Th0masHD” Høxbro Davidsen, a professional Fortnite solo/duos player. He is among the most exciting and highest-performing pros of the last few years, reaching a new peak in 2023 by ranking #1 in Europe and winning multiple top-tier events.
