Six Invitational 2024 Schedule & Format

Brazil is the host country for this massive annual event for the first time. Six Invitational 2024 runs from Feb. 13 to Feb. 25, divided into two stages of competition. With the best 20 teams in the world competing for their share of the $3 million prize pool, fans view the Six Invitational as the “world cup” of R6 esports.

The action begins with a Group Stage from Feb. 13 to Feb. 17, featuring four Round-Robin format groups (five teams each). Once the dust settles, the bottom team from each group gets eliminated, while the rest advance to the playoffs.

During the Playoffs of Six Invitational 2024, 16 teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three (BO3) except the Grand Final, which is a best-of-five (BO5) affair. The Playoffs run from Feb. 19 to Feb. 25, but only the final three days of competition will see the Ginásio do Ibirapuera venue open its doors to the public.

Our Predictions For Six Invitational 2024

In creating our Six Invitational 2024 predictions, we considered historical data, team rankings, stats, and roster changes along with a healthy mix of the author’s expert R6 Siege esports opinion. Look at our picks below, and remember that all 20 teams competing have a shot at lifting the trophy!

1. w7m esports

Brazilian powerhouse w7m esports sits comfortably at the top of the global leaderboards at 945 points—245 more than their closest contender. Odds indicate that w7m esports is the favorite following dominating performances at the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023 and the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023, winning both Majors.

It is imperative to remember that w7m esports isn’t unstoppable, as the squad lost to FaZe Clan in Brazil League 2023 Stage 2. Anything can happen in front of the roaring crowd on the biggest R6 Siege esports stage.

w7m esports roster:

  • Felipe “nade” Ferreira
  • João “Jv92” Vitor
  • Felipe “FelipoX” Lucia
  • Diego “Kheyze” Zanello
  • Gustavo “HerdsZ” Herdina (IGL)

2. G2 Esports

If there’s one team that can stop w7m esports in their tracks, it’s G2 Esports. The proof is in the pudding. Last year, G2 Esports completed their miraculous lower bracket run in the Six Invitational 2023 playoffs and shut down w7m esports 3-1 in the Grand Final.

Odds and global standings indicate G2 Esports is second-favorite. The defending champions are ranked lower than w7m esports due to a disappointing 8th-place finish at Gamers8 2023. Plus, they lost 2-0 to w7m esports at the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023, which meant they missed out on a grand final appearance.

With Karl “Alem4o” Zarth leading the charge, G2 Esports is the only team that has won two Six Invitationals, and the international roster is eager to earn a third trophy!

G2 Esports roster:

  • Jake “Virtue” Grannan
  • Jack “Doki” Robertson
  • Benjamin “Benjamaster” Dereli
  • Aleksi “UUNO” Työppönen
  • Karl “Alem4o” Zarth (IGL)

3. FaZe Clan

A third-place finish at Six Invitational 2022 is the best FaZe Clan has done, and the team only has one Major trophy in their cabinet. So why is the team, filled with Brazilian talent, ranked so high? Consistency!

FaZe Clan won Brazil League 2023 Stage 1 and 2, considered the toughest regional league. So can Victor “VITAKING” Santos lead his team to their first Six Invitational trophies, or will FaZe Clan falter painfully close to their goal again? Odds point to “maybe.”

FaZe Clan roster:

  • Eduardo “KDS” Chiste Fontes
  • Jaime “Cyber” Ramos
  • Lucas “soulz1” Schinke
  • Thiago “Handyy” Ferreira
  • Victor “VITAKING” Santos (IGL)

4. DarkZero Esports

In December 2023, the Six Invitational 2022 champion, Jason “Beaulo” Doty, joined DarkZero Esports along with the highly talented Nathan “Nafe” Sharp. Their excellent roster changes make DarkZero Esports a possible dark horse that’s ready to pounce if any team slips up.

Could a team of North American players shock the crowd in São Paulo and make a deep run, possibly even further than a fourth-place finish? Yes, especially when it’s DarkZero Esports. Consider this our bold Six Invitational 2024 betting prediction!

DarkZero Esports roster:

  • Nathan “Nafe” Sharp
  • Jason “Beaulo” Doty
  • Nick “njr” Rapier
  • Roberto “Panbazou” Feliciano
  • Troy “Canadian” Jaroslawski (IGL)

Alternative North American teams to consider are Soniqs, ranked 4th, and Spacestation Gaming, ranked 9th. Despite their lower ranking today, the latter did win the Six Invitational 2020.
