Do you want to know how to play the Valorant Pearl Map? You’re in luck! In this guide, we’ll unveil the best strategy for attackers and defenders, unpacking important details like the different callouts, utilities, and Valorant agents to deploy on this city-wide geo dome of a battlefield.

Compared to Lotus and Fracture, Pearl is considered one of Valorant’s more straightforward maps, featuring tons of tight corridors and long angles that both the attacking and defending sides can leverage. That said, mastering Pearl is key to climbing the ranks of Riot Games’ tactical shooter.

Valorant Pearl Map Overview

Pearl features two Spike sites and three lanes in Valorant. It is situated in a geo-domed city in Lisbon, Portugal, on Omega Earth, and was the eighth new map introduced to the game. The design hints at an underwater city, with the dome preventing the tides from flooding the metropolis.

Forgoing mechanics like teleporters, revolving, or rotating doors, Pearl echoes maps like Ascent or classic shooter video games like Counter-Strike. But don’t be fooled. Although the map lacks the complexity of other maps, Pearl still commands sharp aiming and solid minimap awareness.

How To Attack On Pearl

Pearl’s layout offers unique challenges and opportunities for attackers in Valorant. Understanding the different entry points, agent utility, and adaptability is key regardless of your playstyle. Here’s a strategic approach for how to attack on Pearl.

Attacking on B Site

Pearl’s B bomb site is inviting, with its expansive corridor stretching from B Club to B Screen. As a result, it’s devoid of major choke points, making a full rush by attackers a viable strategy. However, if the defenders have an Operator, you should be extra cautious.

While agents like Chamber or Yoru may position behind B Screen, B Hall, or the nook in B Main, their defensive efforts often result in a quick trade. Instead, a well-rounded strategy would entail sending a trio long while placing two lurkers near the Mid Shop and Mid Top choke points.

This allows lurkers to pick off defenders trying to flank them, keeping control of Mid. After seizing control of B Site, consider planting the Spike by the outskirts of B Hall rather than at Default. It gives sightlines from both B Main and B Link, facilitating post-plant defenses from B Ramps.

Attacking on A Site

A Site is more defender-sided. The most efficient route to A Site is through Restaurant and A Main. Using Initiators like Sova or Breach can be pivotal in clearing angles. Still, be wary of utilities, like the Cypher cam, and potential defenders by the boxes or the entrance to A Site.

Once you secure the immediate vicinity, take control of Church. Using utilities, such as Brimstone’s molotov or Raze’s grenade, may effectively restrict defensive positions, especially those Backsite. In particular, keep an eye on Dugout, Flowers, and the corridor of A Link.

Attacking from A Art can also be rewarding but demands thorough utility usage. Nevertheless, clearing this choke point is essential to entering A Link. Consider leaving a Sentinel or Duelist here to fend off defender flanks or catch rotations, securing the area before planting.

Default offers a defendable position post-plant from A Main. But if you control A Link, consider planting near Church. You’ll be able to pick off enemies hiding Backsite—just be careful of rotations from A Flowers and A Secret. Always try to have an attacker watching B Main and B Ramp.

How To Defend On the Valorant Pearl Map

But what if you’re on the defending side? Here’s what you need to know about how to counter attackers on Pearl in Valorant.

Defending Site B

The layout of B heavily favors attackers. So, what should you do? Deploy two agents, one in B Hall and another guarding B Link, to mitigate this advantage and sway the odds in your favor. A Viper can block and slow split pushes, especially on the B Link.

For an extra layer of defense, pair the Viper with an Operator-wielding agent like Chamber. If the onslaught becomes overwhelming, prioritize a retake strategy. For example, use Viper’s wall to obstruct the entrance and focus on retaining control from B Screen to B Site and B Link.

The threat of the Op will make attackers think twice about their next move. Some attacking teams may attempt to infiltrate B Site via Mid Doors. Counter this with Sentinel utilities, monitoring for rotations.

Defending Site A

Being closer to Spawn makes A Site naturally more defensible for the defending side. Here, you could run with a trio of agents—KAY/O, Raze, and Fade. Stationing a Duelist like Raze on A Link allows quick rotations to either A Main or A Art, providing a swift response to 5-man rushes or A split pushes.

If attackers threaten from Mid, send two agents to cover the zone. Meanwhile, Fade can either delay the Spike plant with utility or fall back to positions like Secret or Flowers to prepare for a retake with the team. You could also try a more aggressive setup to surprise attackers.

Stationing three agents at B Main during a B Site rush can thwart an assumed easy takeover by the attacking side. But be careful. While you may be tempted to rush Mid due to its narrow corridors and advantageous angles, it’s often a gamble: you relinquish map control and could get flanked.

An exception may be when attackers rush B Site. If this happens, you could delay the onslaught with a Valorant agent armed with an Operator. This would then allow allies to flank from Mid Shops. If you’re going for an aggressive play, ensure it’s well-coordinated. Or, quickly rotate to catch attackers off-guard.

Best Agents To Use On Pearl

The choice of agents is pivotal in determining a team’s success on Pearl. Here’s a quick rundown of the recommended agents:

  • Duelists: Jett and Raze
  • Initiators: Breach, Skye, and KAY/O
  • Controllers: Viper and Brimstone
  • Sentinels: Killjoy *, Cypher, and Chamber

Note: Given Pearl’s design with multiple entry points, Killjoy’s Turret can provide early information. Her Nanoswarms can deter pushes, and her Lockdown can be game-changing during retakes or post-plants.

Playing And Betting On Valorant Esports

And that’s a wrap! Ultimately, mastering Mid-control is essential for success when playing on Pearl. For attackers, it negates the possibility of post-plant flanks. For defenders, it ensures swift rotations and foils lurking adversaries. Contest angles, apply forward pressure, and outsmart your enemy.
