Top 3 Shanghai Major APAC RMR Predictions
Our favorite to win the APAC RMR event in the upper bracket is The MongolZ. The squad demolished the competition with impressive plays throughout the Group Stage and Playoffs Stage of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, beating HEROIC in the Grand Final.
- The MongolZ
- FlyQuest
- Rare Atom
The MongolZ is the highest-ranked team in the event, and the Australian side FlyQuest is the second-highest. Consider Rare Atom as our bold prediction. Despite the Chinese squad being the fifth-highest-ranked team in the APAC RMR, they have shown immense skill and form to break through the Chinese qualifier that featured more than 8,000 (!) teams.

We predict that Team Liquid will dominate the American RMR, spearheaded by young AWPer Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak and Canadian IGL Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. Brazillian powerhouse FURIA is the highest-ranked team (9th globally) at the event, so it would be an upset if they didn’t qualify. Top 7 Shanghai Major European A RMR Predictions
NAVI is the team to beat heading into the Shanghai Major European A RMR event, followed by Team Vitality. NAVI won the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 in style and is currently ranked 1st globally by HLTV and 2nd by Valve.
It would be an incredible upset if even one of the top five teams in the list below didn’t make it to the main event of the Perfect World Shanghai Major.
- NAVI
- Team Vitality
- Team Falcons
- MOUZ
- FaZe Clan
- Fnatic
- Cloud9
Consider it bold, but we see Cloud9 and Fnatic defeating their higher-ranked opponents BetBoom Team and SAW. Cloud9 is in solid form heading into the event, and you can never count out Fnatic when it’s time for a Major Championship.

Top 7 Shanghai Major European B RMR Predictions
G2 Esports is considered the best team in the world by Valve while HLTV places them at #2. With transfer rumors surrounding Nikola “NiKo” Kova’s possible move to Team Falcons, the Shanghai Major may be the Bosnian superstar’s last dance with G2, making a Major Championship trophy the perfect sendoff. The squad is our pick to top the Shanghai Major European B RMR event, followed by Team Spirit, HEROIC, and Astralis.
We can’t wait to see how HEROIC performs. The squad recently made it to the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 grand final and showed solid form throughout the event.
- G2 Esports
- Team Spirit
- Astralis
- HEROIC
- Eternal Fire
- Virtus.pro
- BIG
Despite NIP receiving a direct invite, we listed German side BIG to qualify instead. This prediction is due to NIP suffering from a roster issue, with Young Ninjas’ Jacob “jocab” Nerheden standing in for Max “maxster” Jansson due to injury. Of course, anything can happen during RMR events on LAN, so NIP’s fate is not sealed.
The Shanghai Major Hype
It’s time to punch your ticket and prepare for some top-tier CS2 esports action during these highly anticipated RMR events. And yes, we are shamelessly referencing the teased return of de_Train, which Valve may announce during the event. But hey, that’s just speculation!
