EWC 2026 Dota 2 Schedule & Format
EWC 2026 Dota 2 will run from July 7–19, 2026, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. The tournament will be split across three stages: Group, Survival, and Playoffs.
The Group Stage follows a round-robin format, featuring four groups of six teams competing in best-of-two matches. Teams placing 1st in each group advance directly to the Playoffs, while those placing 2nd–4th will proceed to the Survival Stage. The remaining teams will be eliminated.
The Survival Stage adopts a single-elimination seeded stepladder gauntlet, acting as a “last chance” for teams hoping to secure a spot in the Playoffs. The 4th-place team will play the 3rd-place team in a best-of-three series before the winner faces the 2nd seed for a Playoffs berth.
The Playoffs Stage uses a single-elimination bracket and will include the four Group Stage winners and the top four teams from the Survival Stage. All matches will be played as best-of-three series, except the Grand Final, which will be a best-of-five for the EWC 2026 Dota 2 title.

Our Predictions For EWC 2026 Dota 2
Dota 2 tournaments are notoriously difficult to call, but the EWC is even harder to predict with TI being so close. That said, these are the top contenders to put your money on.
Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and the latest available odds. This analysis should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.
Team Yandex (#1)
Team Yandex enters EWC 2026 Dota 2 as our favorite pick, even though they rank #5 on the EPT rankings (10,400 points). Despite setbacks at PGL Wallachia Season 8 and DreamLeague Season 28, Team Yandex has otherwise enjoyed an exceptional year. They finished in 3rd–4th place at BLAST Slam VI, 1st at PGL Wallachia Season 7, and 2nd at ESL One Birmingham, racking up an impressive 63% win rate at offline tournaments this year.
Their most recent masterclass came at BLAST Slam VII. After overcoming a difficult Group Stage and sweeping Team Spirit 2–0 in the Last Chance Qualifier, they proceeded to defeat Aurora 2–0, LGD 2–1, BetBoom 2–1, and LGD again 3–1 in the Grand Final to lift the trophy. Armed with a powerhouse roster comprising watson, CHIRA_JUNIOR, DM, Malady, and TI winner Saksa, Team Yandex has both the veteran pedigree and raw skill to dominate at EWC 2026.
Team Yandex roster:
- Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov
- Ilya “CHIRA_JUNIOR” Chirtsov
- Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin
- Martin “Saksa” Sazdov (Captain)
- Arman “Malady” Orazbayev
- Alexander “Accell” Litvinenko (Coach)
Aurora Gaming (#2)
Aurora Gaming is our #2 pick at EWC 2026 Dota 2, having already reached three Grand Finals at Tier 1 events this year.
While the Serbia-based titans finished as the runner-up at PGL Wallachia Season 8, DreamLeague Season 28, and DreamLeague Season 29, they also placed 4th at BLAST Slam VII and 1st at FISSURE Universe Episode 8. Earlier in the year, Aurora also made history, posting a 26-series win streak that reached 31 straight unbeaten series.
At the heart of their campaign is a star-studded core of Nightfall, Mikoto, and Ws, the latter of whom has significantly strengthened the team’s offlane. They are anchored by the support duo of Mira and kaori, whose acquisition is widely regarded as a significant upgrade, providing stronger vision and map control.
Beyond that, Aurora has demonstrated noticeable improvement, climbing from 22nd to 3rd in the EPT rankings (13,230 points) with a 60% win rate at offline events this year. If they can shake their finals curse, they could be unstoppable at EWC 2026.
Aurora Gaming roster:
- Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
- Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman
- Chung “Ws” Wei Shen
- Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov
- Oleh “kaori” Medvedok (Captain)
- Damien “kpii” Chok Sau-jing (Coach)
PARIVISION (#3)
PARIVISION (aka “Team Vision”) is our #3 pick going into EWC 2026 Dota 2, backed by an exceptionally strong roster and a #2 spot on the EPT leaderboard (14,510 points).
With multiple appearances this year, PARIVISION has posted respectable results across both Tier 1 and Tier 2 tournaments. This includes 1st at PREMIER SERIES, 1st at 1win Essence 1, 1st at DreamLeague Season 29, 4th at ESL One Birmingham, and 6th at DreamLeague Season 28, even after losing veteran offlaner DM to Team Yandex.
Though they haven’t been as dominant at Tier 1 events, their recent win against Aurora in the DreamLeague Season 29 Grand Final could signal that the team is hitting peak form. This argument is further strengthened by moving Noticed permanently to the offlane, and he proved to be an invaluable asset during his time as a substitute.
Overall, PARIVISION is a dangerous contender at EWC, especially under the tactical guidance of legendary coach and TI winner Puppey.
PARIVISION roster:
- Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov (On Loan)
- Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko
- Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko
- Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan
- Andrei “Dukalis” Kuropatkin (Captain)
- Clement “Puppey” Ivanov (Coach)
Note: On June 20, Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko was added to the lineup, replacing Valery “SSS” Lazarev, who moves to an inactive role.
